A Day In The Wild With Mystic River

It's always been a wish for me to explore the fauna and flora of Mystic River, which finally came true on Sunday. A river which has an importance in American History and which is so rich with its natural spices was flowing in my shadow.
Suresh Dai and Maharaj getting ready for the trip.
Our journey began from Somerville, it was a beautiful Sunny day. Me, Suresh Dai and our Maharaj (Ram Dai) started our journey on a canoe. Our goal was to reach near the water bed which lies almost 6 miles upstream in Winchester.
As soon as we started to canoe, Suresh Dai who is an expert on Mystic River pointed us towards the blackberries ready to be plucked. We stopped our boat in the bank and started to pick those sweet berries and enjoy.
The journey continued towards Malden, Medford, Arlington and during the journey the beauty of old dutch style houses, yacht club, kayaks and boat riders kept our journey vibrant.
Interestingly, we encountered many rare species on the coarse of the river. Turtles, Wild Ducks, Cranes were our eye catching species on the river.
After two hours of canoeing we arrived at the lower Mystic Lake. Our goal fulfilled and our wish well executed.
